About William Turner Schoolwear

Welcome to William Turner

We have provided, through the independent retailer, generations of school children with handmade-quality British manufactured ties.

We stock the widest range of school ties in the UK, and we are proud to retain our local manufacturing roots, with over half of our entire school tie range still made in the company's own UK factories in Skipton and Colne.

We are schoolwear specialists and regularly add new products to our collection to meet the changing needs of schools and school children. With an exceptional variety of bags, badges, craftwear and winterwear accessories,we are sure you will find what you’re looking for with us.

Our business began in 1969, when William Turner began buying cloth from Cheshire weavers to make ties for local schoolwear retailers. In those early days, William’s son Keith, left his newly qualified teaching position ‘temporarily’ to help set up an office. From those humble beginnings in Manchester, William Turner & Son is now in its third generation and remains a family-run business based in Stockport, Cheshire. We are a patron of the Schoolwear Association and a founding member of the Schoolwear Show, and we are proud to remain a trusted supplier of products to school uniform retailers.

Bespoke Service

For many schools and colleges, it is vitally important that their accessories carry their logo and reflect their colours. Our bespoke personalisation service enables us to meet different needs and budgets by printing and embroidering on a variety of accessories. We can also design any bag you wish, adapting any panel or piping colour, and adding extra features to suit individual requirements. Just talk to our talented sales team - every person involved in your order is proud to play their role, and we look forward to being of service to you.
